SEM Lab, Inc.
Privacy policy
Effective 18 October 2026
Contact and coverage
This policy describes SEM Lab, Inc.'s current website intake, purchases, member access, and related technical work. Contact Ed Hare at ehare@semlab.com with questions or a data request. Historical archive pages may describe earlier practices; use this policy for current services.
Information collected and its purpose
SEM Lab receives information you submit, including your name, email, case description, technical questions, evidence files, and purchase or access requests. It uses these records to assess fit, communicate with you, provide the requested work or reference access, reconcile payments, and maintain case and transaction records. Requests may also produce server, access, and security logs used to operate the site, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.
Storage and processing
The website receives intake and uploads and supports payment and access functions. Technical processing, case management, and report generation take place on SEM Lab's local workstation. Related copies may exist in website storage, email, case files, payment and access records, and backups. Local processing does not mean evidence bypasses the website or email systems.
Service providers and payments
Website hosting, email delivery, and payment processing involve their respective service providers. PayPal processes checkout payments under its own terms and privacy practices. SEM Lab keeps the transaction and entitlement records needed to reconcile purchases and provide access. PayPal's checkout may use its own cookies and related technology. The website also uses session cookies and browser storage to support member access and checkout recovery.
Retention
Accepted case evidence, reports, and substantive case correspondence are retained indefinitely to preserve the analytical record and traceability. Unaccepted or abandoned intake, payment, access, and audit records have no automatic deletion schedule. Reproducible temporary copies are reviewed annually; review does not guarantee deletion. Data requests are considered with relevant agreements, preservation requirements, and records held across the systems described above. Expiring a login link or membership does not delete the underlying records.
Evidence handling and special restrictions
Discuss an NDA, special handling requirements, or restrictions on AI tools and external services before submitting material. Sending an intake request does not itself establish acceptance of special terms. Submit only information you are authorized to share, and avoid unrelated personal or sensitive information. No guarantee of erasure from every system or backup is made by a routine data request.
Questions and corrections
Email SEM Lab to ask about information you supplied, request a correction, or discuss handling requirements. Requests are reviewed against the relevant case, transaction, and access records. See the Terms and usage policy for purchases and member reading rules.
