Corrosion
Bond Pad Corrosion
A localized die-surface corrosion example that keeps the user focused on a functionally relevant bond-pad region rather than on supporting analysis graphics.
Interpretation
Why this image matters
The visible corroded region is tightly localized, which makes the image useful for teaching what true bond-pad attack looks like in cross section.
The report linked the failures to aluminum bond-pad corrosion and further noted that poor adhesion and dis-bonding between the molding compound and lead frame likely created the moisture-ingress path that enabled the attack.
This gives the image good teaching value both as a corrosion example and as a reminder that the enabling condition may sit at the package interface rather than only at the damaged site.
