Case 1695 ยท Public preview
Lens Fractures Can Turn Environmental Exposure into LED Leakage
Multiple LEDs would not illuminate and exhibited degraded forward voltage; one device was open circuit.

What the evidence preview establishes
Lens fractures originating near metal posts created paths for moisture and ionic contamination. Corrosion and contamination within cracks could shunt the electrodes and suppress light output. No EOS or ESD damage was found on the examined die.
Why this case matters
A mechanical polymer crack can become an electrical failure path. Lead thermal mass, soldering profile, polymer properties, environmental cycling, and ionic exposure must be considered as one coupled reliability system.
