What the evidence preview establishes

Mechanical loading bent the soldered outer terminals and fractured the glass and terminal interface. The most severe seal contained a continuous outside-to-inside gas path that explained the leak.

Why this case matters

Glass feedthroughs are vulnerable to terminal bending. When hermeticity is lost, section along the pin axis and determine whether meniscus or interface cracks form a continuous leak path.
